Classic & Sportscar Club Celebrates 18 Years Across Andalusia's Mountain Passes
The Classic & Sportscar Club Southern Spain marks its 18th anniversary this coming week, bringing an impressive gathering of historic and performance vehicles to regional roads.
Historic motoring enthusiasts across the south of Spain are gearing up for the 18th anniversary gathering of the Classic & Sportscar Club Southern Spain, scheduled for next Tuesday, 6 October 2026.
Founded in 2008 by expat vehicle collectors and mechanics, the non-profit club has grown from a handful of British roadster aficionados into one of Andalusia’s most prominent enthusiast networks. Over nearly two decades, the group has drawn drivers of classic Aston Martin, Jaguar, Ferrari, and vintage Porsche models along scenic routes spanning the Serranía de Ronda, the Axarquía hills and the scenic passes above the Mediterranean.
A Circuit Through Andalusian Landscapes
The anniversary celebrations feature an exclusive scenic drive through regional mountain roads, followed by a formal commemorative dinner. Members from across Málaga province, Gibraltar and the wider Costa del Sol will participate, turning regional byways into rolling showcases of mid-century British engineering and Italian styling.
While essentially an invitation gathering for owners and their navigators, the annual club runs attract substantial informal attention from local residents and visiting petrolheads. Spectacular machinery traversing traditional mountain routes around towns such as Mijas Pueblo, Ronda and Casares has become an established fixture of the autumn social calendar.
Community Roots and Charity Links
Beyond leisure driving, the club regularly ties its flagship meets to community support, coordinating donations and raffles that benefit local animal shelters and medical charities across the western coast. The milestone event marks not only eighteen years of continuous operation, but also the enduring appeal of car culture among long-term expatriates residing along the coast.
Organisers have confirmed that safety briefings and route packets have gone out to registered participants ahead of next Tuesday's milestone run, which promises to assemble several dozen of southern Spain’s finest private classic car collections.
