Fuengirola Advances Multi-Storey Los Boliches Megaparking and Sports Complex

Detailed planning advances on the Los Boliches megaparking structure alongside the comprehensive redevelopment of the Santa Fe sports grounds.

Drivers circling the packed streets of Los Boliches may soon find relief as Fuengirola Town Hall pushes forward engineering and planning milestones for its flagship infrastructure project: a multi-level Los Boliches megaparking facility paired with an extensive modern sports complex.

Unlocking Hundreds of Underground Spaces

The major municipal scheme centres on the Santa Fe grounds, a key intersection where neighbourhood parking shortages have long frustrated residents, trade deliveries, and seasonal visitors. Town hall engineers have drawn up a multi-deck underground and surface structure designed to supply hundreds of new regulated parking bays.

The project incorporates smart mobility features, including dedicated charging zones for electric vehicles, motorbike bays, and digital guidance signs outside the entrance showing real-time space availability to minimise traffic idling on surrounding avenues.

Rebuilding the Santa Fe Sports Ground

Above and adjacent to the parking structure, the town hall is redeveloping the sports complex. Plans approved by the local administration include a second full-sized covered sports pavilion, an additional multipurpose exercise hall, and upgraded open-air courts intended to serve school groups, local leagues, and adult fitness clubs.

Mayor Ana Mula noted during recent project presentations that replacing outdated sporting infrastructure while solving chronic vehicular congestion addresses two core community priorities in a single combined intervention. The redevelopment will integrate pedestrian plazas to keep sports participants separate from vehicle entrance ramps.

Timetable and Neighbourhood Impact

Tendering for construction works is moving through municipal administrative channels this autumn, with preliminary ground investigations scheduled to precede major excavation work. Los Boliches business associations and resident groups have welcomed the project, which will significantly improve accessibility for nearby commercial high streets once structural works are completed.
