Mijas Cheese and Wine Festival 2026 runs 23-25 October in Plaza Virgen de la Peña, with 20 local producers, live music and a shuttle bus from La Cantera.

A Weekend Built Around Cheese, Wine and Music

The white village of Mijas is hosting the eighth edition of its Cheese and Wine Festival this weekend, from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25, 2026. The Plaza Virgen de la Peña, the heart of Mijas Pueblo, is once again the venue, with twenty local businesses and cheesemakers taking part in what has become one of the municipality's most popular autumn gatherings.

Twenty Stalls, All Local

The festival line-up brings together restaurants, bars and artisans from the municipality, including the Bodega del Pintor, Coffee Art, Radikal, Corte de Autor, Confusión, Alboka, Las Terrazas, Las Tablitas, Confitería Maru, La Muralla, Plaza de Toros, El Cañuelo and Salvador Alarcón, alongside a strong showing of Malaga cheesemakers. Visitors can sample regional cheeses paired with wines from the province, which is exactly the formula that has kept the event growing since its first edition.

Hours and Live Music

The square stays busy late into the evening. On Friday the festival runs from 12:00 to 01:00, on Saturday from 11:00 to 02:00, and on Sunday from 11:00 to 00:00. Live music performances are scheduled across the three days on the plaza, turning the tasting into more of a village party than a strict gastronomic fair.

Getting There Without the Parking Hunt

Parking in Mijas Pueblo fills up quickly on festival weekends, so the town hall is running a shuttle bus from the La Cantera area to the village centre. Anyone planning the trip is well advised to use it, especially on Saturday evening.

A Village That Keeps Pulling Visitors Back

The Cheese and Wine Festival is one of several events that have put Mijas on the map beyond its beaches, from the Mijas Pueblo fiestas to the food fairs that run across the municipality all year. For a town of its size, the cultural calendar is remarkably dense, which is one of the reasons demand for homes in the municipality has stayed firm.

If a weekend like this has you thinking about buying in Mijas, the team at Marbella New Homes follows local market data all year and is happy to share an honest view of prices and availability.
