Casares Advances €230,000 Coastal Leisure Facility at Playa Ancha
Casares Town Hall moves forward with a dedicated 400-square-metre recreational space beside Playa Ancha, enhancing coastal infrastructure for local families.
Casares municipal authorities have greenlit a major coastal recreation investment along Casares Costa, committing €230,000 to construct an extensive outdoor activity park at Playa Ancha. The scheme covers approximately 400 square metres, designed specifically to address long-standing calls from families and year-round coastal residents for high-quality community space adjacent to the seafront.
Seaside Recreation and Play Infrastructure
The initiative will transform a previously vacant parcel into an integrated recreational zone featuring specialised children's play systems, shaded seating, and landscaped footpaths connecting directly to the beach promenade. Municipal engineers selected modern, weather-resistant materials designed to withstand sea salt corrosion while keeping ongoing maintenance costs low. Works are scheduled to proceed through late autumn, aiming for full operational opening ahead of next spring.
Local planners emphasise that upgrading the coastal strip represents a vital balance to the municipality’s steep, historic village inland. As coastal residential communities expand between Sabinillas and the Estepona boundary, municipal funding has increasingly targeted beachfront public amenities, waste management facilities, and pedestrian safety.
Community Value for Coastal Residents
For residents based in developments such as Marina de Casares and the surrounding urbanisations, the new installation at Playa Ancha offers dedicated open-air amenities right on their doorstep. Many multinational families living on the coast previously had to travel to neighbouring municipal parks in Estepona or Sabinillas for comparable facilities.
Casares Town Hall confirmed that environmental assessments were concluded prior to procurement to safeguard existing maritime vegetation. Access along the coastal promenade will remain fully open throughout the project phases, with construction boundaries clearly fenced to avoid disrupting daily pedestrian routes along the water.
Strategic Growth Across Casares Costa
The park forms part of a wider municipal strategy aimed at improving urban services across the lower half of the municipality. Real estate consultants note that well-maintained public infrastructure directly enhances residential appeal for incoming buyers and long-term tenants alike, with agency specialists such as Marbella New Homes frequently citing immediate beachfront amenities as a primary driver of sustained property interest across Casares Costa.
